CampInTouch: Photo Upload

Learn how to upload, organize albums, and tag photos through the Campminder album admin

Uploading photos allows families to stay connected to their camper’s daily experience at camp. Regular photo updates give parents a window into camp life and are one of the most valued summer services for keeping families engaged and reassured while their camper is away.

Photo Management User Group Permissions

In order to login to admin.campanionapp.com and upload photos, you have to ensure users have the correct permissions set.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Logins and Permissions > User Group, then select the group you want to grant access to Photos and News.

  2. Under the Admin section, set News and Photo Gallery to Authorized.

    Note: No other settings need to be authorized to grant this access. You can leave the main Admin setting as Unauthorized to ensure these users only have access to the Photo and News features.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the green Save button.

Create an Album and Upload Photos

Photos are uploaded and organized through the CampMinder photo management portal.

Note: Even if your camp does not use the Companion App, this portal is still used to manage photos. Images uploaded here will appear for families in CampInTouch.

Create Albums

  1. Open your browser and navigate to admin.companionapp.com. Sign in using your CampMinder user account.

  2. Open the menu in the upper-left corner and select Albums from the list.

  3. You will see the Albums landing page, where you can create and manage photo albums. Click New Album on the right side of the screen.

  4. Enter an Album Name, choose a Publish Date and Publish Time.

  5. Click Create Album.

Upload Photos

  1. Open the album you created and click Add Photos.

  2. Upload your images using one of these options:

    • Click the paper icon to browse your device.

    • Drag and drop photos directly onto the upload page.

  3. Review the images in the uploader and , when ready, click Upload.

  4. A progress bar will appear for each file while the upload completes.

    • Supported file types include JPEG, PNG, and BMP.

    • Each image can be up to 20 MB.

    • You can upload up to 2,000 images at one time.

💡Tip: If you are uploading a large batch of photos, keep the page open until the uploads finish. Closing the page will stop the upload process.

Tag campers in photos

Tagging campers makes it easier for families to find photos of their child.

Note: Campers are tagged in the main Campminder system, not in the Companion photo admin portal.

  1. Navigate to CampInTouch > Setup > Photos (Manual Tagging).

  2. Locate the album and date of the photo. Select the image you want to tag by scrolling through using the arrows.

  3. Begin typing the camper’s name in the search box. When the camper appears, click the name to add them to the image.

  4. Repeat this process to add multiple campers to the same photo.

    Note: To remove a camper from a photo, click the purple rectangle next to their name.

  5. Once a camper is tagged, that photo automatically appears in the family's My Photos section in CampInTouch.
