Learn how to use Google Analytics and other services to track conversions

CampInTouch forms allow you to integrate tools like Google Analytics, Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing, and Microsoft ad Center to measure the traffic and conversions your promotions create.

Note: Apart from the tools below, there's no option to insert tracking pixels or code elsewhere on the website. We don't support Facebook's conversion pixel due to security settings, and locating the buried Google Analytics code might be challenging with certain tag finder programs.

Marketing Tools Settings

  1. You can use marketing tools to track statistics on the Camper Application, Staff Application, Referral Form, and Inquiry Form. On some pages, this is the "Tracking Code" link, on others, it's "Marketing Tools." You'll find it near the top of the page, in each case.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Camper Application/Staff Application/Inquiry Form/Referral Form

  2. Marketing settings are be found in their corresponding settings page at the top under a section called “Marketing Tools”.

  3. The settings dialog will look like this:



Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a program that can show you how people found your site, what they looked at, how long the looked at it, and a whole lot more! Monitoring this data can help you target ways to enhance the visitor experience.

You can sign up for Google Analytics for free at google.com/analytics. Once your account is set up, you will be given a Google Web Property ID for whatever page(s) you wish to track.

If you have a Google Analytics account, you will receive a google tag ID, in a format starting with "G-" or "AW-". This is the alphanumeric code you need to copy and paste into Campminder.

Regarding the capabilities and limitations of the Marketing Tools available on the Camper Application Settings, Staff Application Settings, and Inquiry Form Settings:

  • The "Tracking ID" tracks every page that an applicant lands on, starting with the Session Selection page. From there, it tracks their movement (even if they hit the "forward" or "back" buttons)

  • The "Conversion ID" and "Label" are tied to the "Submit" button—When a camper or staff applicant clicks "Submit" this triggers code that links directly to Google Analytics

Google Adwords

Google AdWords allows you to advertise on Google and Google's advertising network. You only pay when people click on your ad.

To sign up for Google AdWords, go to www.google.com/AdWords.

Once you've signed up, do the following to set up monitoring of your various CampInTouch forms (C)

  1. Navigate to Admin > Camper Application, Staff Application, Referral Form, and Inquiry Form. Scroll to the "marketing Tools" settings.

  2. These are the needed fields inside the marketing tools for google adwords to work.

  3. You need both fields populated in order for conversions to fire correctly.

    • Camper Application: This will fire conversions for the specified conversionID and label as well as have a revenue value of the Family’s final owed balance.

    • Staff Application: This will fire conversions for the specified conversionID and label, but will have a revenue value of 0.

    • Inquiry Form: This will fire conversions for the specified conversionID and label, but will have a revenue value of 0.


Yahoo! Search Conversion

Yahoo! Search Marketing allows you to advertise on Yahoo! and Yahoo!'s advertising network. You only pay when people click on your ad.

To sign up for Yahoo! Search Marketing, go to: advertisingcentral.yahoo.com/searchmarketing.

Once you've signed up, do the following to set up monitoring of your various CampInTouch forms (Camper Application, Staff Application, Referral Form)


Microsoft Ad Center

Microsoft adCenter allows you to advertise on Bing and Bing's advertising network.

To sign up for Microsoft adCenter, go to bingads.microsoft.com. Once you've signed up, do the following to set up monitoring of your various CampInTouch forms (Camper Application, Staff Application, Referral Form)
