Fundraising: Campaign Instances

Learn how to create campaign instances to raise funds for a variety of camp needs and activities.

Updated over 2 months ago

To create a new campaign instance, you’ll bring together your existing campaign definitions to set specific goals and timelines for your fundraiser.

Example: The Fall Fundraiser is recurring, starts on September 1st, and ends on November 30th, with a goal of $150,00; while the Spring Celebration starts on March 1st and runs through April 15th, hopefully getting us $75,000 in donations.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Fundraising > Configuration and select the "Campaigns" tab. Click the green "Define New" button to open the "Add Campaign Instance" window.

  2. Choose the Campaign Definition to link with this Campaign Instance and give it a name.

💡Tip: For recurring campaigns, you might add a season or year to the name. The example above uses 'Spring Celebration 2024' since its an annual event.

Note: A campaign definition can only be used in one campaign instance at a time. A single definition cannot be used for two campaign instances running concurrently.

  3. After you select the campaign, the Funds and Appeal you chose earlier will already be picked for you, but you can change them if this Instance is different.

  4. Add a start and end date for this Campaign Instance, and then supply your financial goal.

  5. Finally, you can choose to show this Campaign Instance to applicants on the online donor form, or keep it private for you to use administratively.

  6. Click "Save", and your Campaign Instance has been added.

With your campaign instance now ready, you can begin receiving gifts and pledges from your donors. Let the fundraising begin!
