The CampInTouch Settings page lets you control what parents see and do when they log in. From welcome messages to payment options, this is where you tailor the parent experience to match your camp’s setup.
Because each camp operates a little differently, CampMinder gives you full control over what parents see and can do inside CampInTouch. All of these settings live under Camp InTouch Settings — your home base for customizing the parent experience.
Navigate to CampInTouch > Admin > Settings.
Welcome Message
When parents log in, they’ll be greeted by a short message at the top of their dashboard.
If you leave this blank, it defaults to: “Hi [First Name], welcome to your Camp InTouch account.”
Use merge fields like
[First Name]
,[Last Name]
, or[Email Address]
for personalization.
💡Tip: Add a friendly note about your camp’s online portal to make it more welcoming.
CampInTouch User Settings (Lockout Notifications)
Parents are locked out after five incorrect password attempts and will need to call you for help if they ignore the system’s warnings.
Note: CampMinder support can’t unlock parent accounts.
Click Edit under Notifications.
Choose who receives alerts and how:
Internal CampMinder notification (radio tower icon)
Push to iPhone (phon icon)
Email alert (letter icon)
You can also add an extra email address.
Family Contact Info
Tired of getting phone calls about address or phone number changes? You can allow parents to update their own contact information directly through CampInTouch.
💡Tip: If you don’t need the alerts, just leave that field blank.
Family Billing Info
You have several options for letting parents manage their financial details.
Start by checking the "Enable Financial Management" box. This lets parents update who’s responsible for payments and is required if you want them to make online payments or view their balance.
Once that’s turned on, you’ll see additional features, like:
Display Financial Data for Previously Enrolled Campers: Allows parents to view past seasons’ financial statements, which can be helpful for tax purposes.
Display Financial Ledger: Shows charges, payments, and discounts for the current season.
Enable default invoice footer:Adds a customizable footer to downloadable PDF statements, pulled from Admin > Financial Admin.
Enable Family Debit/Credit Card Info Update: Lets families update their saved credit card information online.
Enable Online Payments (Financial Management): Allows families to make payments online. You can choose whether payments process automatically or if you receive a notification to handle them manually.
Note: These settings are managed under Admin > Financial Admin.

You’ll also want to include a contact email for payment questions — this address will get notified whenever a payment is submitted. Need others on your team to stay in the loop? Just click Other Recipients to set that up.
Accounts
Allow applicants to view balances and/or fund camp store accounts for their attendees.
Create a "CampInTouch label for View Accounts"; You might call this account ''Camper Store Accounts.''
Check to "Enable Online Payments".
Check to "Allow" Credit Card and/or eCheck. Below those options, you can choose "Email Only," which means when a parent adds a payment, it won't process, only send you an email, and then you log in and add the actual payment from the ledger.
Select any notifications you’d like to receive about account funding, if needed.
My Account Message
Use the My Account Message section to share targeted messages with parents, staff, or alumni — perfect for reminders like health form deadlines, with the option to set an automatic expiration date.
Send targeted messages to parents, staff, or alumni. Tabs are targeted to parents of campers in:
CM: Managment
EM: Enrollment
LM: Lead
SR: Staff Recruitment
SM: Staff Management
A: Alumni
Set a title and message for each audience.
Optionally, use a “Show Until” date.
Example: Remind families and staff that health forms are due May 31 — no need to show this to alumni.
News
The Campminder News system serves as an online newsletter or blog accessible to parents. It mimics a traditional newspaper layout, featuring articles, columns, and access to past editions. You have the option to include photos within articles or even attach full photo albums.

Camper Medication / Information Review
You can let parents review their camper’s basic info — like grade or age — but they won’t be able to make changes themselves.
Instead, they’ll email you through CampInTouch to request updates, keeping the control in your court and ensuring there are no surprises.
💡Tip: This helps ensure accuracy, especially when certain details impact things like session eligibility.
Select the "Enable Camper Medication Review" box and enter a message for parents.
Select the "Enable Camper Review" and enter an email address to recieve notifications when a family changes their camper information.
Note: the email is required to enable the online camper review.
You can enable a similar option for staff, and in their case, contact info changes (like address or phone number) update automatically in your system.
If you’d like to be notified of those changes, just enter an email address in the settings.
Summer Services
In this section, you'll select which Summer Services (photos, guest accounts, emails, etc.) caregivers can access during their camper’s session.
Guest Accounts
You can let caregivers add guests, like friends or relatives, who can view and buy photos, send emails, and use most CampInTouch features—except viewing statements or making payments, which are for household members only.
Select the “Enable Guest Accounts” checkbox.
Select the “Enable Guest Accounts for Staff” checkbox.
Email System
If Send a Smile is enabled, you can add an optional note for parents below.
Example Notice:
indicate that you print using a black & white printer
If your email will take over 20 minutes to write, draft it outside CampMinder to avoid timing out.
Add an optional email header message. Examples:
Campminder's email system only supports English letters. Alphabet characters found in Chinese, Hebrew etc. will show up as "??????" for the recipient.

Photo System
Camp photos offer a fantastic way to share cherished camp memories with parents and their guests, while also providing an opportunity to generate revenue through photo sales. It's a win-win situation!
Enter an optional message at the top of the page when parents log in to CampInTouch and go to the photos section.
Enrollment Mgmt., Camp Mgmt.: Choose which partitions should have access to photos. For example, if you only want parents of enrolled campers to view photos, just check "Camper Management."
Veteran, Hired Staff: You can also choose which staff members see photos. If you don’t want former staff (not currently hired) to have access, leave "Staff Veterans" unchecked.
My Photos options: Under CampInTouch > Setup > Photos (Manual Tagging), you can tag campers in photos so they automatically appear in that camper’s family photo viewer. When parents log in, they’ll see the tagged photos at the bottom of their screen, labeled with whatever name you assign to the section.
Anonymous Login
You can allow anonymous guests to login and view Photos and/or Videos.
💡Tip: Worried about privacy? This feature is completely optional!
Set a username and password to share with individuals for anonymous login.
Select the checkboxes to allow anonymous access to photos, videos, and news items as desired.
Note: emails, financial info, and other parts of CampInTouch will not be available, so there's no danger there.
Anyone with this username and password can log in through your CampInTouch site, just like a parent — so share it carefully.
My Camper Labels
CampMinder supports all kinds of programs, not just camps. So if “camper” or “camp” doesn’t quite fit your organization, you can choose alternate labels
The three main roles have archetypes that are the default labels for each role:
Camper: the participants in your process (ie; campers, students, participants or registrants)
Staff: your employed staff responsible for your participants (ie; staff, teachers, counselors or guides)
Alumni: any previous campers or staff (ie; alumni, donor or graduate)
In this section you have an opportunity to modify the labels used to identify the roles within your processes.
Select the tab (camper, Parent/Guest, etc.) and from the dropdown menu select the label you would prefer to describe the role as in your organization.
Example: This organization prefers to refer to their staff as "counselors," which they’ve selected from the dropdown list.
Save and Review
You made it! Once you’ve finished customizing, scroll to the bottom left and hit the green Save button to lock in your changes. Then hop over to your CampInTouch page to see it all in action.
💡Tip: Need to tweak something later? No problem — just come back anytime and make your edits. Just don’t forget to save!
