Campminder uses a secure, centralized authentication system for both back-end (System) users and CampInTouch users (caregivers, staff, and families). As a camp admin, you're the first line of support when someone can't get in.
This guide covers both audiences so you have the answers you need in one place.
What you'll learn:
How the login process works for your administrative team
How the login process works for caregivers and families on CampInTouch
How to troubleshoot the most common login issues for both groups
Part 1: Campminder Back-End Users (Your Admin Team)
All administrative users log in at system.campminder.com using the email address connected to their account.
To confirm the email address on file for any user,
Navigate to Admin > Logins and Permissions > Users.
Locate the individual and select the yellow Edit button to view their email.
📋 Note: To keep your camp's data secure and ensure PCI compliance, every Campminder user must use MFA. This means each user needs their own email address and login.
For instructions on setting up users, see Set Up User Groups and Add Your Team

❓A user can't log in and isn't sure why
Make sure they're logging in at system.campminder.com with the email address tied to their account. To look up their email, go to Admin > Logins and Permissions > Users.

❓A user has access to multiple camps
They log in the same way — no separate domain needed. All available camps appear in the upper-right corner of the Campminder homepage once they're in. Campminder will default to the last camp they accessed. If they've never logged in before, the first camp alphabetically will load.
❓A user is also a parent or caregiver (has a real child enrolled at camp)
❓A user is also a parent or caregiver (has a real child enrolled at camp)
Admin users and CampInTouch parent accounts are separate — even when they belong to the same person. Here's what to know:
A standard admin user can access CampInTouch directly through the CIT Links page or UPR while logged into System. If they don't have a real child enrolled, this is all they need.
If an admin user also has a child enrolled at camp, they have two separate accounts: their System (admin) account and a CampInTouch (caregiver) account. These are authenticated independently.
To access CampInTouch as a parent — to submit forms, manage enrollment, etc. — they'll need to log in through the CampInTouch login page, not through System.
If they've never logged into CampInTouch as a parent before, they'll need to select Sign Up the first time. This creates their caregiver account and links it going forward. After that, they log in normally.
If they were already using CampInTouch as a parent before this authentication system was introduced, they can simply log in with their existing email and password.
Part 2: CampInTouch Users (Caregivers, Staff, and Families)
CampInTouch uses the same authentication system as the back-end. Families access their CampInTouch account through your camp's unique login link.
When a parent / caregiver visits the login page, they'll see a Welcome Screen and enter their email address. The system then routes them automatically based on whether an account exists:
Existing account → prompted to enter their password
New to CampInTouch → prompted to create an account and password
Forgot password → can request a reset directly from the login screen
Email verification uses a 6-digit code sent to the caregiver's inbox. Codes expire after a short window, so caregivers should complete verification promptly.
📋 Note: Passwords are shared across all camps using the same email address. If a caregiver uses the same email at multiple Campminder camps, resetting their password will update it for all of them.
📋 Note: Some caregivers may also be members of your admin team. Even if they use the same email address for both accounts, their System and CampInTouch passwords may be different — this is expected.
Troubleshooting: CampInTouch Login Issues
❓Someone is stuck trying to log in to CampInTouch — how can I help?
❓Someone is stuck trying to log in to CampInTouch — how can I help?
Confirm they're using the correct login link. You can send them a fresh one by going to Admin > CampInTouch > Setup > Links > My Account. You MUST use the purple Copy Link.
Have them enter the email address associated with your camp's records. To confirm which email is on file, go to their record in the system and view the Login email on their upper record card.
If they've logged into any CampInTouch site before, they'll be prompted to enter their password or click Reset password.
If they use the same email at multiple camps, their password is the same across all of them.
If they're brand new to CampInTouch, they'll be prompted to create a new account and password.
If they're a returning user and need a password reset, you can trigger one from their record by clicking the green arrow between the word Login and their email address on the UPR.
If your camp uses Campanion, the login information for staff and caregivers is the same as their CampInTouch login.
❓A caregiver isn't receiving the verification code email
❓A caregiver isn't receiving the verification code email
Have them check their spam, junk, or filtered folders for an email from do-not-reply@campminder-noreply.com.
If the code has expired, they can request a new one from the verification screen.
If they're using a work email address, suggest trying a personal email for better deliverability.
❓A caregiver is accidentally creating a duplicate account
❓A caregiver is accidentally creating a duplicate account
This happens when a returning caregiver clicks Sign Up instead of entering their email on the Welcome Screen. Direct them back to the login page and have them enter their existing email — the system will recognize it and route them to password entry instead.
❓A caregiver belongs to multiple camps
❓A caregiver belongs to multiple camps
They only need one account. As long as they use the same email address across camps, they can access all of them with the same login credentials. Direct them to log in with their existing email rather than signing up again.
❓A caregiver's saved browser credentials aren't working
❓A caregiver's saved browser credentials aren't working
Saved credentials from before the authentication update may not autofill correctly. Have them click Reset Password to reset, then their browser can save the updated credentials going forward.
